Nightly Storytime

Create a moment of connection and a steady ritual by having a nightly storytime routine before bed. Place them on your lap while you read together to help them feel calm and connected to you.

  1. Make sure your child is ready for bed with their pajamas on.
  2. Choose a story to read. Here are some of our favorites:

  4. Read together! As they follow along, let them hold onto the book and help turn the pages as you read aloud.

When children spend time on their parent's lap, it becomes a safe space associated with warmth and love where they can connect with the parent, learn to regulate their bodies, and calm big emotions. Not to mention, lap time reading keeps the child engaged and creates a positive attitude toward books.
