Finger Dancing
Take 5 minutes each day to create a moment of connection with your baby. Try sitting with them, singing a simple song, and adding a fun finger dance to entertain and interact together.
- Choose a time when you regularly have 5 minutes to spend with your baby, like getting them out of their crib each morning, after their first bottle, or while putting their socks on.
- Sit with your baby facing you, on the floor in front of you, on your knee, etc.
- Sing a song and together make those fingers dance.

Studies show that singing to your baby builds a connection by increasing your baby's attention and displays of positive emotion toward you. Singing also lowers your baby's heart rate, decreases anxiety, and releases endorphins which can reduce pain.
