Bubble Night

Create a weekly routine of having a bubble party at bathtime. If you have a bathtub, you can use that, but a storage tub in a shower or sink is still just as fun.

  1. Fill a bathtub, container, or sink with water and bubbles, or add a squeeze of kid's shampoo.
  2. Put on some music and add plastic cups, spoons, and plastic toys to the bath.
  3. Have fun! Create a bubble tea party, be sea creatures or scuba divers, or make the bubbles into a volcano.
  4. When playtime's over, wrap them in a snuggly towel and close out the routine with a big hug.

The warm water helps calm kids mentally and physically for the night ahead. Tapping into their interests and playing with them strengthens your connection and can get even the most unwilling kids excited for bath time. Lastly, creating a routine bubble night gives you and your child a chance to think about the week ahead. Having a fun activity to look forward to can help calm any anxiety your child has about the rest of the week.

Try this next:

Play music that soothes both of you. When kids are relaxed and having fun, getting them to open up and talk is more accessible.
